A well-known household brand are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join the business and work on a number of their main systems which handle over 1 million transaction per day. As a Junior Software Engineer you will follow a detailed training plan which will help you learn the technical skills you will need to succeed within this company. |
We are open to the programming background of this individual as the person fit is more important than the skillset as we will develop this over time. Most importantly we are looking for the following:
• Experience in developing software - whether through education or personal projects
• Happy to learn new skills
• Takes pride in completing work to a high standard
• Holds a relevant qualification such as a BTEC, HND or Degree
You will be working alongside a small but driven development team who are utilising agile development techniques across the full software development lifecycle. Any exposure to this or the following could be of benefit but it will be taught to you:
• JAVA 6 or PROIV
• Oracle 10g along with SQL and PL/SQL skills
• Webservices (RESTful ad SOAP)
• Unix/Linux knowledge with basic scripting
This market leading organisation are now embarking on a three year development programme to move their existing legacy systems and back office platforms into the latest cutting edge Java technology.
ROLE: Junior Software Engineer
SALARY: £18,000 - £24,000
