My client a leading IT solutions provider are seeking to recruit a Technical Support Analyst and you will bring the below skill set:

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

* To analyse network needs and contribute to design of network architecture, integration, and installation.
* Experience of LINUX in a service provider or support capacity
* Installs and maintains LAN/WAN network hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, network nodes, and terminals.
* Experienced in the use of a protocol analyser (wireshark, tcpdump, espdump).
* Able to decipher a protocol analyser trace.
* Coordinates installation of hardware and software.
* Communicates and coordinates network/servers schedule, backups, and downtime to users.
* Prepares and maintains documentation of network/server configurations and cabling layouts.
* Assembles and configures network/server components and associated services.
* Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
* Upgrades network hardware and software components as required.
* Provides internal customers with network technical support.
* Responds to needs and questions of internal customers concerning their access to network resources.
* Establishes network users, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed.
* Replicates customer environments to aid in problem replication/resolution.
* Requires participation in on-call rotation.

Mandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience

The individual would require the following skills:
* Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative but within a stringent framework
* Ability to prioritise conflicting work demands
* Keen eye for detail when implement items, especially when following or writing procedures and process.
* Experience of LINUX in a service provider or support capacity
* Experience of IP networks, switches, routers, firewalls and associated devices.
* Experience of PKI, Digital Certificates and network encryption
* Experience of VMWare ESXi or other virtualisation technologies
* Experience of security management within an enterprise
* Experience of VPN
* Network protocols and applications - VLANs, IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, NTP, HTTP, HTTPS, IPsec, LDAP, SSH
* Nagios / SNMP / Syslog monitoring tools
* Security - Best practice, Firewalls, encryption, access control, authentication mechanisms, PKI, Certificates

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience

The individual would need to have the following skills:
* Experience of Cisco, Netgear switches
* Experience of Juniper firewalls
* Desire to "do what it takes" while minimising to zero the impact on existing customers.
* Experience of LINUX in a service provider or support capacity
