A high volume manufacturing site based in Blyth are looking to recruit a Test Development Engineer to join the Projects team. Assisting the development of the Company`s next generation technological solutions, you will work closely with the hardware designers and industrialisation team with a focus to bring market leading, customer-driven solutions to market in a timely manner,
As the Test Development Engineer, you will work closely with R&D Engineers to formulate Test Plans for new products. Assembling and testing electronic and electromechanical prototypes as part of the new product development process, you will influence the design of new products to ensure the most efficient build & test and design (hardware & software) whilst building Test Rigs for new/existing products.
A key duty will involve the writing of Test Procedures for new/existing products as you validate installation & user guides for new products. You will also be expected to undertake and oversee customer acceptance testing for new product introduction.
Working closely with R&D and/or Test Engineers to undertake to test replacement/alternative components using the company`s Component Approval Process, you will identify and test appropriate replacement or alternative component for existing products/systems as well as identifying and assessing third party test solutions/ATE.
To succeed within this role, you will possess proven hardware, software and mechanical development experience preferably within a test development environment. A good understanding of the electronic product manufacturing process is key and ideally, you will be a graduate / HND + qualified electronic / engineering graduate - or qualified through significant experience and proven track record of embedded and PC software design.
Prior experience of working within an electronic/software product design and manufacturing environment devising production test methods will further strengthen your application and you are expected to have familiarity with electro/mechanical test as used in an automated test environment and h LVD and electrical safety testing.
With a sound knowledge in Altium or similar PCB design package and of AutoCad or similar, you will also have experience Project Management.

In return, you will receive a salary between £24,000-£27,000 depending on your experience.
This is a permanent role consisting of Day Shift Hours (9am-5pm Monday to Friday). The salary for this role is negotiable with experience.
