Job Title: Controls Technician|
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 Basic (neg dependant on exp) + Flexible Benefits.
Our client who is a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Cambridge is currently looking to recruit a Controls Technician. This position reports to the Automation Engineering Manager and will be responsible for providing maintenance and controls support to ensure the effective operation of all Engineering, Production, and Research equipment.
Other responsibilities of the Controls Technician role include but are not limited to:
Carrying out upgrades of equipment control systems, planned and reactive maintenance and completing jobs as specified in work orders.
Providing technical expertise and subject matter knowledge relating to equipment controls
Providing assistance and guidance in the resolution of equipment failures and operational performance issues, including analysis and reporting as required.
Contributing to continuous improvement activities and support installation and modification of new equipment and systems. Participate, as required, in pre-delivery inspections, factory acceptance tests, design reviews, vendor audits, commissioning, and qualification.
Leading investigations into major failures or incidents using Root Cause Analysis and providing written feedback to inform the maintenance strategy.
Suitable candidates for the Controls Technician role will be educated to degree level or equivalent in an Automation or Controls discipline and have demonstrable experience working in a highly regulated industry such as the Pharmaceutical, Fine Chemical, Medical Device or Biotechnology industry. A detailed knowledge of GMP, GAMP, calibration, validation protocols and other regulations and their impact on instrument maintenance and calibration is essential as is an in-depth knowledge of engineering and production equipment controls and instrumentation, and awareness of developing technologies
