My client, a leading designer and manufacturer of components and systems for the automotive and motorsport sector, are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer based from their facility in East Anglia. |
Due to the expansion and success of the this business, the need for this role is to provide the design team with a 'go to' manufacturing skill set, who can lead design reviews on electro-mechanical products, overseeing the manufacturing process from a technical perspective. Essentially you will be responsible for translating product designs into world class, cost effective manufacturing, assembly and repair processes with proven capability to meet customer and business expectations and standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing processes and/or methods of manufacturing which are capable of meeting and continuing to meet requirements for quality, costs, delivery rate and lead time.
- Work effectively with Design Engineering to ensure that the design is aligned to current capabilities and design costs.
- Capture and analyse data to demonstrate the current and future capability of manufacturing processes.
- Identify opportunities for new or improved manufacturing processes to meet current or future requirements.
Ideally you will have 2-5 years experience in a similar role, with a background of manufacturing engineering improvements, and be qualified to at least HND in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical). You will be capable of understanding schematics and component datasheets, and possess a broad ranging experience of working in a process/continuous improvement, high pressured manufacturing environment. The ability to implement and deliver world class/lean manufacturing techniques and projects is essential - Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping and DfM being preferred
