Title: Workshop Fitter (Small Tools & Plant)

Basic: £25,000 PLUS EXTRAS

Working for a large bluechip, your role will be mobile based, fixing, maintaining and inspecting all small tool / small plant hire products, prior and during hire period.

Purpose: To provide overall responsibility for the inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of hire equipment returned to depots by depots in the region, ensuring that all work undertaken is safe and complies with COMPANY safety standards

Person Specification
Ensuring the highest standards of equipment inspection, maintenance and repair to minimise the incidence and cost of breakdowns on-site.
Fleeting of new hire fleet delivered to the Depot, in accordance with Company procedures.
Reporting to Site Supervisor on requirements for purchases of fuels and, with the Site Supervisors consent, ordering spares as appropriate ensuring that stock levels are carefully managed so as not to exceed base requirements.
Assisting the Site Supervisor to support Depot operations as well as providing Customer assistance (including breakdown site visits, safety demonstrations and advice on accessory requirements)
Ensuring that all equipment is cleaned / painted so as to be presented to Customers in accordance with Company standards.
Dealing with enquiries in a professional and friendly manner and informing Depot / Site Management with any problems when they arise.
Liaising with the Site Supervisor to prioritise workloads to meet Customer/ Depot demand for hire equipment
Wearing full uniform and PPE at all times.
Keeping the Workshop safe, tidy and well organised at all times to promote a safe working environment and professional image of my client to the Customer.
The performance of the Workshop against all agreed financial targets and budgets
Workshop compliance with Health and Safety Audits and procedures and the absence of any serious Health and Safety incidents in the Workshop
Completion of all relevant training courses as appropriate by all Workshop Engineers
Equipment availability, breakdowns on-site and equipment safety audits
Customer Satisfaction performance in relation to equipment quality and safety
The development and progression of Workshop Engineer and Site Driver
Employee absence at the Workshop within the levels expected by the Company
Ensuring all repairs and maintenance are completed in accordance with manufacturer and Company standards, including carrying out comprehensive safety checks of all hire equipment before despatch/return and completing and including all necessary documentation.
Ensuring that all equipment leaving Workshop is despatched to customers in a safe working condition, includings all relevant accessories, safety instructions and test certificates.
Completion of reports to the Site Supervisor and Site management on all equipment that is faulty and ensuring all equipment is secure while in the workshop premises
Undertaking regular reviews of the Workshop's compliance with regulation and Company standards relating to Health and Safety, environmental matters and welfare of employees
Depot compliance with Health and Safety Audits and procedures and the absence of any serious Health and Safety incidents in the Depot
Customer Satisfaction performance of the Depot
All relevant paperwork completed accurately
Customer satisfaction performance of the depot in relation to delivery and collection
Comply with COSHH.
Comply with Risk assessments and hazard awareness ensuring this in the team.
Safe loading, securing and unloading of all equipment requiring more than one person in line with safety procedures.
Ensure any training and development applicable to your role is complete

• Full driving licence
