Our Manchester, New Hampshire office has an immediate opening for an entry level professional, trained in the field of Geotechnical Engineering, seeking a challenging career with a growth-oriented company committed to providing quality services to clients. The position requires a M.S. degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Geological Engineering from an accredited academic institution. Applicants should have academic or professional training in soil mechanics, rock mechanics and foundation engineering with emphasis in several of the following areas: subsurface investigations, geology, geotechnical laboratory testing, mechanics of materials, slope stability analyses, earth support structures, and environmental engineering.
Training or experience in the following areas is considered advantageous: finite element analysis; CPT testing and interpretation; a variety of geotechnical computer software; bedrock mapping; geotechnical instrumentation systems; GIS; AutoCAD; and, Mathcad.
This individual will be responsible for: executing field investigations; engineering analyses; monitoring civil/foundation construction; and preparing technical reports. Golder expects that the successful applicant will pursue registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.). Additional job requirements include:
* M.S. degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Geological Engineering from an accredited academic institution is required.
* Strong technical writing capabilities and verbal communication skills,
* Competence in the Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint at minimum),
* Engaging interpersonal skills combined with a positive, team-oriented attitude,
* Focused organization and time management abilities,
* A strong work ethic,
* Authorization to work in the United States,
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as dictated by project demands,
* Pass a pre-employment physical including a drug screening and background check, and
* A clean driving record
