General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Nuclear Weapons Security Field Engineering Technician to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design, develop and manage a variety of equipment and systems solutions for General Dynamics Mission Systems and its clients. Key Responsibilities
The Nuclear Weapons Security Field Technicians perform Vulnerability Assessment activities which will have an impact upon the design of advanced electronic security systems. This position requires technical knowledge and disciplines such as physical security, sensor technology, authoring procedures, generating reports, and other technical activities. Additionally, these individuals assist customers with the operation and maintenance of General Dynamics Mission Systems systems. Team members also provide technical expertise to users and company personnel both domestically and internationally.

  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs.
  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics Mission Systems culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices.
  • Strong understanding of physical security requirements and how Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are leveraged to enhance guard force awareness and tactics.
  • Build the technical expertise of the organization by documenting system knowledge, mentoring others and learning from others.
  • Experience and/or factory training on Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), ARINC AIM, Hirsch Velocity Access Control Systems, CCTV, Infrared Cameras and Honeywell Vindicator.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), VISIO, SharePoint. Experience with Access databases and AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Ability to safely handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work within a team and ability to interface with customer and system users.
  • Discipline to document completed work accurately to facilitate sharing knowledge and building organizational expertise.
  • Ability to work in various environments and weather. High work may be required.
  • Strong initiative and self-motivated.

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of electronic security systems, and the ability to further advance and support General Dynamics Mission Systems. They should demonstrate sophisticated problem solving skills, as well as an ability to design, develop and implement innovative General Dynamics Mission Systems business solutions.

Nuclear Weapons Security Field Engineering Technicians must have a high school diploma or equivalent and two to four years of relevant work experience. Applicants with an associates degree also qualify.

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a Navy's Personnel Reliability Program controlled billet. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
