Experienced maintenance mechanic, familiar with the modifications and maintenance tasks on the variations of the Abrams Tanks (M1A1ED, M1A2SEP V2, M104, HAB) vehicles; deploying globally on short notice|
Skilled welder, familiar with field welding on aluminum and steel parts, working to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys
Ensure Supervisor/Manager is aware of critical issues and able to make appropriate decisions based on information supplied
Perform other duties as assigned by Leadership responsible for maintenance
Must have three (3) or more years of maintenance experience working on tracked vehicles (Abrams experience preferred) and have welding experience on aluminum and steel parts, working within required tolerances, and able to read welding symbols and drawings
Must be familiar with the modifications and maintenance tasks on the variations of the Abrams Tanks (M1A1ED, M1A2SEP V2, M104, HAB) vehicles
Able to maintain welding certifications or to obtain certifications as required, including but not limited to certifying in horizontal, vertical up and out-of-position
Must be a U.S. person
Must be able to gain and maintain access to all military installations in which the work is performed
Able to secure and maintain a NACI and United States Passport; if required
Must successfully pass a deployment physical that meets CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) requirements; if required
Must be willing to travel globally and within the United States to perform welding tasks in the field when required
Must be able to work independently and be an integral member of the Retrofit Team
Must have a valid State Driver's License and be able to obtain a military license and meet the anthropometric requirements to entry into a driver's station or into an enclosed military vehicle
Required to work at various heights, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, able to climb, to work in enclosed spaces - often in awkward positions, extreme temperatures and dusty environments
Be able to work autonomously with U.S. or foreign government personnel
