We are currently seeking an experienced Surface Water Engineer with ideally 3-6 years' experience, to be based in our Newcastle office. As a member of our strong and dynamic surface water group you will have an excellent opportunity to further your professional career in a leading global consultancy.

This role will suit a water resources professional with sound analytical skills and experience in the mining and transport sectors, coupled with a solid background in hydrological and hydraulic modelling and a willingness to work in project locations across Australia.

Our ideal candidate will possess:
      • Bachelors Degree in Civil and/ Or Environmental Engineering;
      • Solid analytical skills with experience in undertaking surface water investigations, data management, analysis and calculations;
      • Experience in surface water assessments focussing on hydrological analysis, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, surface water planning & management, and stormwater and flood risk management;
      • Understanding of environmental planning and policy implementation, environmental regulation, and water resource management;
      • Some exposure to project management and delivery, and a desire to develop experience in managing client relationships and expectations;
      • Experience with Microsoft Office packages (particularly Excel), hydrological modelling packages (e.g. ILSAX, XP-RAFTS, RORB, WBNM, AWBM), hydraulic modelling packages (e.g. DRAINS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, XP-SWMM, MIKE FLOOD) and proficiency in GIS software packages such as MapInfo and ArcGIS.
      • Strong communications skills (both written and verbal).
