Principal Asset Consultant - Move up the ranks quickly with a structured approach!
About the Company:
My Client is a global project management and technical consultancy who create and manage strategic assets by engaging with clients in the early stages of a project, and often continue to advise them throughout the lifecycle. They are a leader in international development and have knowledge and networks to undertake ambitious projects that make a positive impact on infrastructure, socio-economic growth and the environment.
They are looking to ramp up on their recruitment process on some of the most innovative and largest every private infrastructure and build investments in the UK! This role will be based on a permanent basis, firstly in Milton Keynes, then in the West Midlands thereafter.
I am currently looking for the correct person to be responsible for liaising closely with clients and facilities contractors in a role with wide ranging responsibilities and scope for development. Having a strong building services engineering background (not necessarily through design) and you will have a good working knowledge of engineering plant, equipment and an understanding of applicable building services standards.
The position includes undertaking condition and dilapidation surveys on new and old buildings, site inspections, M&E compliance and project management, auditing of contractor performance management, report writing and site meetings.
The ability to win work and develop further business opportunities through relationship building and competitive tendering will also be a key requirement of the role.
About the role:
You will be tasked to do, but not limited to:
** Ensure projects are delivered to the relevant standards, cost and time
** Oversee the delivery of non-strategic projects under guidance where required
** Support the delivery of major projects or a range of smaller ones requiring specialist input
** Provide day-to-day client interface, conducting site visits for technical assessment or problem solving
** Report on project progress, risks and issues and ensures that these are highlighted and followed through
** Develop solutions based on relevant best practice
** Contributes to the delivery of innovative solutions for clients
** Ensure that costs are managed and controlled to ensure the achievement of project profitability
** Pro-actively identifies business development opportunities with existing and new clients and escalate for action
** Supports the professional development and coaching of the team
** Ensures that all project activities are managed in line with group policy and procedures
** Pro-actively identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and efficient ways of working within projects and more widely across the business ensuring that this is shared with colleagues
Qualifications and experience:
** Experience within a similar role, preferably within an outsourced building services or facilities/asset management role
** Working towards or attained Chartered status or equivalent qualification
** Relevant professional qualification / technical degree
** Comprehensive knowledge of and proficient in company systems, policies and procedures
** Robust project and programme management capability

What we are looking for in you:
I'm ideally looking for somebody who has exceptional contract management experience and can liaise with key stakeholders and be able to cascade information out to contractors. I am looking for someone with an M&E background, who is used to being client facing and a strong but firm and fair communicator. You must be flexible to travel where the projects happen and be able to work on multiple contract values of anything up to £1M. You must be pro-active, a self-starter and be able to work off your own initiative.
We are looking for someone with leadership qualities, so that we can move you up the ranks quickly as the business grows. Also we need someone who can help to drive the department forward with creative thinking.
