This position will be based in Calgary office commencing starting January 2017 for an 8-month work term, reporting into the Canada Tax Department.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform the following functions:
  • Prepare and file corporate income tax returns, elections and remittances in a timely and accurate manner in all jurisdictions across Canada
  • Researching and documenting information, on PP&E additions, to prepare tax schedules required for the filing of tax returns
  • Researching and documenting information, on SR&ED projects, to prepare tax schedules required for the filing of tax returns
  • Interacting with tax authorities for follow up on tax filings
  • Creating and updating process documentation
  • Potential to work on additional tax related projects as identified

Required Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Management majoring in Accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a regular full-time basis without restrictions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in preparation of corporate tax returns
  • Previous experience using SAP, AccuMap, and Excel
  • Previous experience in the oil and gas industry through summer employment or co-op work term
  • High level of initiative and ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to adjust to changing priorities
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Possess good organizational skills
