We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail orientated candidate to join our small but rapidly expanding team in the role of Financial Controller. RecycleSmart is looking for an experienced accounting professional with a passion for supporting development and change. Duties include the production and analysis of monthly financial reports, weekly flash reports, monthly sales reports, maintain proforma statements, maintenance of accounting records and asset record management. The successful candidate will develop and maintain a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles for all provinces/territories in Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily management of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure, policies and procedures that achieves both the department and company's goals and objectives. Principal Accountabilities: ManagementDevelop and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and NA performance of our A/P, A/R NA the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectivesOversee the accounting operations and cash management of the NA and maintain a rigorous methodology to ensure invoicing errors are minimal and our cost structure is maintained. TransactionsEnsure that accounts payable is paid in a timely mannerEnsure the invoicing process is timely and NA that accounts receivable is collected promptly - provide weekly reports for sales and A/R NA and authorize payroll processing in a timely manner using payroll system, issue T4's as well as ROE's where NA monthly bank and visa reconciliations are timely, complete and NA that required debt, remittances, and tax payments are made on the government issued NA management for credit cards, and bank NA the chart of NA Asset NA an orderly accounting filing system for soft and hard copies, recognizing requirements for confidential NA a system of controls over accounting transactions based on accepted accounting principles. ReportingCoordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report - to be submitted annually to our NA benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations. (monthly, quarterly, annually).Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts with the Managing NA variances from the budget and report significant issues to management in a timely manner. (monthly, quarterly, annually).Provide for a system of management cost NA financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations in conjunction with overall strategy of the NA analysis of profit summary reporting as NA timely and complete financial NA sales reports to be sent to Sales Managers in timely NA flash reports sent to management NA term financial planning support, working with financial institutions and owners to create reports as NA EBITA report. ComplianceMonitor debt levels and compliance with debt NA with all government reporting requirements and tax filings. Additional Accountabilities:Assist with benefits setup for employees, and introduce easy to follow NA meetings and 'status updates' to all key team NA on business growth and NA an efficient, cost effective way to capture the multiple invoices that RecycleSmart receive from the various service providers (e.g. waste haulers) and produce accurate, timely invoicing to our clients. Working Conditions: This is a leadership position, working out of our office in Richmond, BC. Desired Skills and Experience The candidate is required to have at minimum a Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration and 5+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large company. A strong preference will be given to candidates with the designated -CPA, CA designation, experience in a rapid growth environment and experience with Microsoft Dynamics. Most importantly, RecycleSmart is seeking an individual who has a demonstrated ability to build and maintain a high performing team and to keep the accounting department ahead of the growth curve.
