We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-orientated candidate to join our small but rapidly expanding accounting team in the role of Accounting Clerk providing support to all area of accounting with specific duties related to Accounts Receivable. Requirements · Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office applications. · Previous experience with accounting software applications. We use Microsoft Dynamics software for our client management, A/P and A/R , previous experience with this program an asset. · An accounting diploma or 3+ years previous experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role. · Fluent in written and verbal business level English. Other languages are an asset. General Job Description 1. You will be responsible for daily accounting transactions related to vendor bill entry/reconciliation, preparing cheques, recording disbursements, recording company credits, as well as file maintenance (hard and soft) for the accounting department. 2. You will ensure that all transactions are accurately entered; follow up on account discrepancies; liaise with RecycleSmart account managers and maintain adequate documentation for required adjustments/credits; 3. Assist with the management of accounts payable and ensure proactive communication with all vendors regarding outstanding credits owing; obtaining statement of accounts and performing quarterly reconciliations for large volume accounts, high level quarterly review of statements to ensure accuracy of A/P. 4. Manage A/R in a consistent, reliable manner in order to minimize outstanding A/R; 5. General office duties such as filing, scanning documents and maintaining sufficient office supplies such as paper, toner, etc. 6. Utilize professional and timely communication by email and phone; 7. Provide exceptional customer service to our clients, vendors and employees; 8. Seek opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiencies in the workplace; 9. Perform other duties as required. Desired Skills and Experience The candidate is required to have a diploma in accounting or equivalent work experience in an accounting or book keeping role. A strong preference will be given to candidates who have work experience in all areas of accounting and general bookkeeping. A strong work ethic and a proven team player is required for this position. Reports to: Controller, RecycleSmart Solutions Hours: Full Time, Contract.
