About the Role:|
The monitoring and control of Severn Trent Water's remote assets is critical to the delivery of our AMP6 commitment to achieve operational excellence, whilst reducing cost and risk. Our ambition is to drive proactive, predictive and preventative analysts and visualisation into the control room, alongside an alarm system that is fully rationalised.
As a Proactive Control & Telemetry Manager day to day activities will include implementing proactive analytics and visualisation into the control room, driving cultural change within the control centre; moving it from being reactive to proactive. You will also identify how telemetry can deliver operational efficiency and is aligned to the SMART Networks Transformation Programme.
Furthermore, in this role you will be responsible for reducing both the wholesale current alarm volumes and the same day alarm priority response rates. Identifying and implementing efficiencies with the current alarm end to end business process is also a key aspect of this role. The successful candidate will also lead and define the proactive analytic and visualisation with the current telemetry system, to enable remote diagnostics and reduce the need for site operational visits to investigate issues.
It is essential that the successful candidate will have both a proven track record of managing a high performing team, as well as a collaborative approach to internal and external stakeholders. An understanding of asset management principles and how telemetry, analytics and visualisation can transform operational asset performance is also key for this position.
Severn Trent's 8 million customers know that whatever the weather, whenever they turn on their taps, we'll deliver high quality drinking water. Behind this 24-7 achievement is our strong Water team. They manage hundreds of river and reservoir systems, and 16 surface water treatment works to treat 1900 million litres of water every day, delivered through our 46,000 km network of water mains.
In return, we offer some excellent rewards including 28 days' holiday, a contributory pension, life assurance and personal accident cover, discounts on shopping, energy bills and Severn Trent shares plus a performance reward scheme.
