Baker Hughes has an opportunity for a Oil Field Directional Sales Manager - City Sales to support the Technology Direct Organization.

The Technology Direct Organization provides the direct sales of Baker Hughes technology products to strategic customers around the North America - South Region. In addition to key drilling technologies, formation evaluation, pressure pumping and other products the organization will provide technical support after the sale, sales of spares, upgrades and modifications. This role requires broad product line account management experience and working knowledge across product lines with existing relationships with the Baker Hughes Leadership.

  • Develops and implements sales strategies for a specified geographic area, business unit or product line.
  • Responsible for developing and meeting sales growth targets for direct sales in area of product line expertise.
  • Drilling application knowledge
  • Ensures the implementation of marketing plans for development of new business.
  • Maintains the customer base, including existing customers, acquisition of new customers and penetrates new markets.
  • Builds and sustains relationships with customers.
  • Proactively discovers and communicates the clients' strategy and direction to senior management.
  • Facilitates visits to client headquarters.
  • Facilitates communication between client's technical services/Research & Engineering groups and enterprise Research & Engineering groups to seek out collaboration and joint projects.
  • Tracks and communicates the outcomes of all visits.
  • Communicates relevant success stories to client executives.
  • Promotes the enterprise strategy to client executives.
  • Assists product lines with conflict resolution as necessary.
  • Leverages all of these responsibilities towards the resulting business growth.
  • Handles special projects, as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • 8 years' experience in related field.
  • Knowledge of conventional or rotary steerable systems.
  • Technical experience on drilling service product line.
  • Customer order management, invoicing and collections.
  • Knowledge of product quality and reliability assurance processes.
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationships skills and strong business acumen.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment and able to deal with ambiguity and change.
  • Effective customer service skills.
  • Flexible and focused on delivering on-time and quality outcomes.
  • Must have demonstrable experience in changing work environments.
  • Ability to work independently with multiple people at many levels and work as part of a team.
  • Extensive knowledge of business plans, customer requirements, and customer demands.
  • Excellent business acumen and ability to proven abilities to identify organizational efficiencies.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Proven skills in sales and account development.
  • Highly skilled in personal savvy.
  • Ability to leverage market and customer knowledge for account growth.
  • Good computer skills and internet research proficiency.

  • Knowledge of drilling technologies
  • Knowledge of pressure pumping equipment
  • Hands on experience with drilling and pumping equipment
