The Instructional Designer will be primarily focused on the design, development, implementation, and continued improvement of processes, standards, and tools associated with the Content Development process at Baker Hughes.


Effectively manage projects associated with the creation, implementation, and improvement of current processes, standards, and tools associated with the content development function; Works with Global Content Development Manager to:
  • Design, develop, implement, and improve enterprise-wide processes, standards, and tools, as well as training content associated with these efforts.
  • Evaluates and applies effective learning methodologies to improve learning based on audience needs assessment.
  • Effectively manages data in the enterprise Learning Content Management System (LCMS).
  • Designs, develops and improves assessment instruments to evaluate content mastery.
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of training development process and tools.
  • Manage special projects, as assigned.
  • Bachelors' Degree or Equivalent experience.
  • 4 years training experience.
  • 2 years (or equivalent experience) in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Digital Marketing & Communications, Content Management Systems, or similar discipline.
  • Experience in XML-based authoring systems.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning theories and concepts.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Self-motivated learner.
  • Results-oriented, self-disciplined, and internally motivated.
  • Good listener with excellent oral and written communication skills. Pays close attention to detail and sets high standards for quality.
  • Creative problem solving skills. Welcomes challenges and adapts well to change.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Instruction Design, Educational Technology, Digital Marketing & Communications, Knowledge Management, Content Management Systems, or similar discipline.
  • Experience developing Instructor-Led and E-Learning training in a Learning Content Management System.
  • Experience with Captivate, Lectora, Photoshop, Camtasia, and Adobe premier

Limited travel (less than 5%).
