Purpose of Role
Why the role is needed – To manage Supply Chain activities in a Business Unit or Region with Turnover of c £150 m +. To deliver effective procurement solutions to Work Winning, Project Delivery teams and the Business as a whole. To improve performance and reduce cost and business risk significantly. To deliver a better value supply chain by embedding category strategies into the projects and focusing on the needs of internal & external customers. Role in the context of business strategy – Supply Chain Strategy must be aligned to the Business strategy. The Supply Chain strategy will be delivered through a combination of Category Management and Operational Procurement (Supply Management). This role will manage the supply of goods and services across a Business Unit or Region in order that financial savings and performance improvements are made through a more strategic approach to supply chain management and a more integrated approach with our customers (internal & external) and our suppliers. Can develop project or contract specific sustainability strategies at tender and project delivery phase to meet the Group Sustainability Strategy and client requirements. Can step down the Sustainability Strategy requirements and incorporate them into a Business Unit Sustainability Strategy.
Leads all Supply Management activity within the Business Unit or Region for both work winning and project delivery. - Helps to develop and then implements the supply chain strategy for a Business Unit or Region, working closely with stakeholders and category managers to understand customer requirements and implement the most appropriate supply chain solutions - Assists the Supply Chain Director and other Business Directors with strategic direction for the business. - Ensuring any global supply chain sourcing opportunities are realised. - Acts as mediator in potential disputes within the supply chain. - Finalisation of tender / speculative pricing decisions in association with Work Winning., assistance with the submission of pre-qualification and tender documents in conjunction with Work Winning activities. - Assessing, valuing and advising on Commercial Risk associated with Supply Chain. - Advance key objective of sustainable procurement including how it can be used to win work
Additional Role Information
This is a key strategic role that requires the management and leadership of the Procurement and Supply Chain team at a Defence based contract in the south. This role supports an influx of new construction works under the Army Basing Programme.
You will have experience leading the procurement of Major construction projects and ensuring customer requirements form part of the Supply Chain solution as well has having execptional mediation and negotiation skills.
