Technical Sales Engineer (Covering the UK from High Wycombe base)
£35,000 - £45,000 + 5 10% Bonus + Company Car / Allowance + Benefits (OTE £50,000)

Operating from the company?s substantial manufacturing site in High Wycombe, the business can accommodate projects from initial concept, through to volume production.
With more than 30-years of experience of working with a broad range of customers, we are well placed to deliver complete turnkey requirements, or manufacturing solutions.
In order to meet demanding customer needs we utilise the latest technology and equipment, alongside more traditional methods of manufacturing. We employ modern quality management systems and inventory control models, alongside a strong emphasis on training, to support our manufacturing capability.
Whilst our capabilities encompass a wide range of market sectors, we have significant experience in the following areas: office furniture, education, healthcare, retail and leisure.
We are well placed to provide our customers with a manufacturing management supply chain service, adding value by utilising our global network of specialists.

Role Objectives:
To rapidly acquire and utilise a thorough understanding of the company?s current engineering capability whilst obtaining a complete familiarisation with our existing portfolio of customers and our current and potential markets.
As a Technical Sales Engineer, this knowledge, one acquired combined with proven sales expertise in applying all aspects of sales planning / selling techniques will enable full responsibility for maintaining and growing the wallet share of current customers, whilst making a significant contribution to the development of new markets with our service offer and growing range of products.
The role will report to and work closely with the Managing Director and work closely in conjunction with the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
? Take ownership of the external customer spend base (with support maintained on certain identifiable key customers) and grow this to agreed target levels with customers that have an agreed fit in terms of preferred product profile that will facilitate profitable growth.
? Identify new business development opportunities with the appropriate profile and generate an agreed target for new business during each financial year. This may include developing routes to market for the company?s ?own? IP based products as well as new customer / market identification. On-going annual targets to be agreed in conjunction with this.
? Take over the agreed ?day to day? sales support of ?key? accounts currently managed, or opportunities created by, the Managing Director. Timing / number of accounts and targets in relation to this will be agreed on a ?case by case? basis.
? Maintain a clear quote log /order pipeline at all times that is capable of scrutiny / justification by the MD or other senior management.
? Provide regular reports on the pipeline position and status of new business development projects to facilitate overall business planning.
? Provide regular reports to the MD and senior Management on the quote ?log? position to facilitate overall business planning.
? Assist the MD & GM in on-going customer segmentation / spend analysis project.
? Work closely with the Estimator to ensure all customer quotations are dealt with on a timely basis, in line with customer expectations and in accordance with mark-up guidelines.
? Preparation of quotations in the prescribed format where required based on the technical cost estimations and in accordance with mark up guidelines.
? Be responsible for clear and accurate communication with customers if production resources and ?key? customer requirements result in a change in order lead times.
? Work closely in conjunction with the General Manager and his team to ensure the mix of orders generated maximise gross margin and efficiencies in factory resource.
? Develop understanding of wider offering to identify cross selling opportunities.

Educated to HNC / HND in Engineering / Manufacturing or a BTEC coupled with an Engineering Apprenticeship.

Skills & Requirements:
? Have the confidence and ability to represent the company in a technical capacity as well as possessing excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
? Experience in mechanical / production engineering (metalwork), or a closely related industry.
? A strong and proven record in a technical sales engineering role and a proven track record of sales budget achievement into a variety of business types.
? Be proactive, focused and driven to have gained a record of success in developing new business.
? Excellent time and territory management skills, along with the ability to prioritise are essential.
? Have dynamic skills to get to the decision makers.
? Excellent verbal presentation skills to individuals such as Managing Directors, Technical Directors, Procurement Directors, Purchasing Managers and to Groups, also using Power Point presentations.
? Knowledge of both the tender and specification process would be useful.
? The ability to work using own initiative but in a team environment.
? Highly numerate and with strong IT literacy.
? Good written communications skills.
