Our Client is driving the wet infrastructure sector globally and they are leading the world in results-oriented management, technical engineering and construction services to create a better world. The wet infrastructure sector they serve encompasses a variety of water-related projects and programs ranging from water supply, treatment and storage to water resources management and coastal restoration and from design and construction of hydropower and renewable energy facilities to full environmental services.

They are looking to strengthen their operations team with a Senior Civil Site Manager for their CMDP (Southern Water) joint venture framework. The fundamental requirement of this role is to have a track record of successfully managing the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) aspects of complex multi-disciplinary Water or Wastewater process projects. Experience across EPC must be balanced in order that the challenges associated with successful delivery of all phases of projects are appreciated equally - this is a role that starts post feasibility through to commencement of construction on site.

CMDP is a joint venture that will deliver a range of schemes to maintain and improve Southern Water's water supply and wastewater treatment works in the eastern half of its region (Kent & East Sussex). The individual projects are the design and construction of improvements to clean water and dirty water treatment plants, including pumping stations and sea outfalls. Individual projects within the programme will range in value from £250K up to £20M.

You will report directly to the Project Manager and duties/responsibilities of the role will include:

* Develop scheme Health, Safety and Environmental Management Plan
* To ensure works are constructed defect free
* Ensure all works are undertaken with due regard to the needs of the local population within the immediate vicinity of the works and the travelling public as a whole
* Manage, supervise and mentor the site team as appropriate
* Ensure only adequately trained and experienced operatives are engaged on site to deliver the scheme
* Adopt, maintain and promote cost conscious management through efficient use of all resources
* Ensure realistic scheme programmes are prepared, reviewed and updated
* Ensure method statements and risk assessments are prepared, reviewed, briefed and updated
* Deliver site inductions and regular tool box talk briefings to all site personnel
* Ensure all plant and equipment used is fit for purpose, only operated by suitably trained personnel and regularly inspected
* Ensure all records for measurement and payment purposes are prepared promptly, in appropriate form
* Keep line management apprised of potential problems and opportunities
* Awareness and ownership of budgets
* Proactive management of risk & progressing & reporting on mitigative action


* Recognised Civil Engineering/Site Management Qualifications
* Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management
* Health, Safety and Environmental Management (IOSH or Construction Managers Safety Certificate
* Valid Driving Licence
* CSCS Site Manager (Min)
* First Aid at Work
* Understanding of Engineering Principles
