Our client is a Further Education College offering a wide range of courses to over 5000 full time students and over 5650 part time students each year. The college currently works with over 50 high school partners, welcoming students from Bury and the surrounding areas.

They now have an opportunity available for a Facilities Manager to join them, to ensure that all Facilities Management Services are conducted in a way which provides a high quality learning and working environment.

Working alongside their existing Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for Facilities related legislation for contractor control measures, compliance testing and CDM. You will advise on the training and development requirements of the Facilities Team; promoting a culture of team working and professional development, and continually improving levels of service to customers whilst optimising performance and value for money.

You'll jointly manage and lead the day to day activities of the Facilities team, whilst maintaining the college property portfolio through planned and reactive maintenance and manage all outsourced contracts including, but not limited to, (maintenance, grounds, cleaning, catering and PAT testing) and the procurement process.

Working alongside the Director of Health, Safety and Security and the Director of IT Services & Estates, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment, which includes compliance with Health & Safety and Safeguarding legislation for all facilities staff and facilities related contractors.

You'll also develop, maintain and monitor an information database containing drawings, schedules, statutory records and other relevant information, including a list of approved contractors for all services, you must plan and implement systems to forecast, monitor and control the annual budgets of the Facilities department and act as a Fire Marshall when required.

Candidates for this role should have a minimum of three years' experience working in a Facilities Team, and qualifications in Facilities Management, IOSH 'Managing Safely', Health and Safety and IT (or a willingness to work towards these). A thorough working knowledge of legislation and good practice relating to the operation and management of buildings, building services, facilities and the workplace in general is essential.
