A very well established engineering company based in Newport, South Wales are looking for a Bids and Tendering Manager to join their family run team in an exciting time of expansion.


* You will be working with the bid team to agree strategy and develop the successful submission of tenders by managing the co-ordination/ production of the bid package, and will have contributed to the timely development and implementation of the bid development plan with the view to continuously improve the quality of our bid submissions.
* Commercial Awareness - A strong Bid Manager will need to be able to understand in great detail the needs and requirements of the purchaser. Bid documentation can often be very formal in its nature. Purchasing companies may often provide only a vague context around why they are outsourcing a particular project. A good project manager will be able to identify the motivations of the purchaser fully to their advantage.
* Presentation - The successful bid writer must not only have excellent verbal presentation skills, should the request require this, but also the ability to present in writing a fluid business proposal. If the purchaser cannot understand the details of the bid, then they are less likely to proceed.


* Salary of up to £30k but negotiable for the right person

* Monday to Friday Hours (8.00am to 4.30pm) no weekends


* Experience of creating cost schedules and tenders
* Implementing and reviewing procedures to improve efficiency
* Able to compile bids
* Checking ISO requirements from clients for end product design
* Experienced with liaising with clients frequently, building excellent relationships
* Keeping systems updated for audits
* Team management of 2 or more people, able to motivate and train
* 3 years' experience within a construction/ Engineering environment
* Excellent communication skills
* Excellent written and verbal skills
* I.T. Literate in all Microsoft Office Packages including Word and Outlook.
