Graduate Structural Engineer / Surveyor / Quality Technician
Commutable from Harrogate, York, Thirsk, Northallerton, Darlington and Wetherby
£20- 25k dependent on experience

Successful manufacturer of structural components to the building are seeking a Quality Technician to ensure products are in line with customer specifications and adhere to quality standards. The role would suit someone who is qualified to Graduate / HNC or ONC level within Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Surveying or Building studies who is either looking for their first opportunity or the chance to progress into their next role

The company are well established with a long standing and stable work force. This is a new role to work alongside the works manager to take full control of all quality and tasks to implement change where possible and reduce rejects and waste. This is not a typical QA role you will be required to be hands on often outside on a regular basis working on large structures in a yard environment.

As the Quality Technician you will:
•Work from technical drawings to ensure all products are produced to client specifications undertaking both manual measurements and visual inspection throughout all stages of production
•Create, implement and monitor SOP's,
•Write and implement inspection and test plans
•Ensure quality of incoming materials as well as finished items
•Investigate non conformances and put in place corrective actions where possible
•Identify areas for improvement within the production area and implement changes to where possible
•Work closely with production staff to ensure full understanding of projects and conformance to quality standards are achieved
•Maintain and improve current stock management / control system
•Assist with the implementation, monitoring of health and safety polices and procedures

As the Quality Technician you will have experience of:
Reading, understanding and interpreting technical drawings
Working with staff to guide and mentor them to achieve required standards
Ideally have previous experience of working in an ISO 9001 environment
Ideally some experience / background in quality based role
