We are working with a top ten developer are currently seeking an experienced Surveyor to take a Senior Surveyor role based in their Head Office near Romford. The company is well known throughout the sector and have won numerous awards for their design quality. |
The role will be initially taking on full surveying duties on an 165 unit development of traditional build housing in Cambridge, followed by further projects in the Hertfordshire area.
Some Key responsibilities are:
Supervising, managing and advising on the Financial and Contractual Aspects of multiple construction project across the division.
Attending design team meetings and development meetings when appropriate and also main contract pre-start and subcontract package review meetings.
Liaising with Development Surveyors to establish requirements for pre-contract expenditure and strategic procurement.
Receive initial tender information and prepare and update procurement programmes.
Agreeing selection of suitable Subcontractors for works packages. Approves the competency of Subcontractors for inclusion on the Subcontractor's Approved List. Maintains and reviews the Approved List of Subcontractors in accordance with the Departmental procedures.
Monitoring production of information and advised on financial feasibility of design development.
Preparing Subcontract tender documentation, analyses tender returns and makes recommendations on subcontractor selection.
This role will suit someone who is passionate about the construction industry, in particular house building. The role dictates a wide knowledge of construction processes and a keen understanding of methods of measurement, standard forms of contract and the preparation of contract claims - So prior experience in a similar role is effectively essential. They are also seeking someone fully qualified in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent). You will also be an excellent communicator and proficient in the use of ICT systems and various software packages.
The role will also require a full UK driving license to allow for travel to site, as necessary.
In return, you can expect a salary of up to 75k, with a travel allowance of over 5k, a performance based bonus.
