Salary:£78-92,000 + benefits

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to join a large organisation reviewing floor to ceiling IS infrastructure and building a world class team of Programme Managers and a PMO function to support a significant change programme. We are looking for an individual with impressive change experience particularly with either an infrastructure and or applications leadership programme. Providing the organisation with thought leadership and delivery you will be looking for a career defining role.

The role:
Drive third party suppliers (eg, WIPRO, SAP, IBM etc) and work with the Commercial Management team to ensure that third party suppliers efficiently deliver high quality, value for money solutions.
Lead and establish a comprehensive governance framework within which all necessary control, compliance and conformance requirements are accommodated.
Lead and motivate direct and virtual teams, whilst developing and growing talent within the team, and cultivate a customer-service driven organisation.
Create robust and consistent service control and delivery processes and ensure adherence to systems development standards, methods and procedures;
Drive the delivery of systems and services to the highest levels of quality, standards and operability as defined within negotiated and agreed service level agreements.
Lead and drive the performance of the Solution Delivery function to deliver efficiencies and improvements on behalf of the business, demonstrating upper quartile delivery efficiency
Develop and maintain a network of external relationships with equivalent IT leaders, external IT organisations (e.g. Gartner, Hackett etc) and IT suppliers to ensure we are able to draw on latest technology trends, external expertise, benchmarks etc to drive additional value into the organisation
Contribute as proactive member of the IS leadership team to the overall development of IS
The person:
Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Outstanding track record of providing mission-critical solutions for a large, blue-chip, environment, (in an environment that combines legacy systems and new innovative technology solutions).
Strong track record of introducing best practice and clear programme management methodologies to solution delivery. Able to combine rigour and discipline with a pragmatic approach to delivering the highest quality, cost effective solutions in demanding time-frames.
Significant people management and leadership experience gained within a culture of change
Experience of Agile development methodologies
World-class design principles
SOA principles
Leading edge technologies
Systems integration and testing package implementation
Quality management, methods and tools
Risk and issue management and mitigation techniques
Working with 3rd party supplier project teams
Benefits management and tracking
Governance and control methods.
Extensive experience of utilising a combination of in-house and third party suppliers and of building strong, mutually beneficial partnerships with vendor
Able to deliver effectively in a high focus, demanding organisation in a period of change.
A strong programme manager with a good knowledge and detailed understanding of project processes and development methods - able to bring rigour and discipline to the development process.
A leader and strong people manager. Able to motivate and develop teams who will be undergoing a period of significant change.
Possessing impact and credibility at the highest levels, with excellent communication skills.
A strong influencer able to collaborate effectively with IT and business colleagues in order to deliver business advantage.
A proven deliverer, results-driven with strong commercial and business acumen.
A capable negotiator, both internally and with third parties
