Austin Fraser is pleased to announce a new position for a committed, ambitious and enthusiastic Sales Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a world leader in their field within advanced materials.

As a sales engineer, you'll combine technical knowledge with sales skills,to ensure your client's and the company's needs are met. You'll liaise regularly with other sales personnel, and colleagues from other departments such as engineering, materials/ technical, purchasing, production, and senior company managers.

It is expected that you will spend 3 days per week visiting clients and prospective clients. 1 day a week writing your reports including actions, opportunities and minutes. 1 day per week at the office planning, reporting, supporting internal sales, etc.

Your day-to-day tasks are likely to involve:

* Finding New Customers
* Searching for new clients who could benefit from the organisations bespoke products in a designated region
* Travelling to visit potential clients (UK and EU)
* Establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers
* Managing and interpreting customer requirements
* Persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs
* Account Management
* Calculating client quotations
* Negotiating tender and contract terms
* Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions
* Offering after-sales support services
* Improving profitability of customer accounts
* Analysing costs and sales
* Preparing reports for head office
* Meeting quarterly sales targets
* Recording and maintaining client contact data
* Coordinating sales projects
* Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
* Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs
* Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education
* Helping in the design of custom-made products

The successful Sales Engineer will have a strong educational background, HND, Degree or similar. You will have experience selling to OEM and mechanical customers ideally within the Food, Pharma, Industrial, Oil & Gas, Marine, Chemicals and Power industries. You will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
