Our NHS client is looking for Fire Safety Advisor to provide the Trusts staff with advice on their responsibilities under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and other official guidance in respect of Fire Safety in NHS premises.

Location: Cottingham and Hull

Duration: Until end of December (possible extension)

Hours: 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Pay: £13.00 to £14.50 per hour paye or £17.00 to £19.05 per hour umbrella / Limited Company

•Advise the Trust in the application and interpretation of technical standards and statutory controls.

•Conduct Fire risk assessments/audits at times in unpleasant working conditions and advise Management on the requirements and implications of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

•Advise the Fire Safety Manager of specialist staff training requirements to be carried out
•Provide, as required reports to the Fire Safety Committee including details of Fire Incidents and False Alarm incidents and any recommendations in areas for improvements
•Maintain fire plans for all Trust premises in accordance with the requirements of HTM 05-01, HTM 05-02 and HTM 05-03 (current HTMS with regards to Fire).

•Assist in the development of workforce planning for the service.

•Ensure compliance with legislative and mandatory standards, Trust policies and procedures and departmental protocols, including Standing Financial Instructions.

•Assist with the Annual Estates Business Plan to agreed business planning timescale.

•You will be expected to carry out risk assessments, identify hazards in your work area, and evaluate the level of risk associated with identified hazards and implement adequate controls to eliminate or reduce the level of risk.


•Fire Science or Fire Engineering based education and qualifications

"Thorough Knowledge of :Fire Safety, Fire risk assessment, Fire legislation & HTM"s (fire), Fire training, Able to carry out Fire Safety Audits & Fire Risk Assessments, Detailed Report writing
