Project Engineer ? Nuclear Division

We are currently looking to recruit a Project Engineer to join our clients Nuclear Division on a permanent staff basis.


Plans, monitors and manages internal projects from initiation through to completion. Directs, coordinates and exercises functional authority for planning, organisation, control, integration and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budgets and to required quality standards, whilst building and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key duties and responsibilities
Plans and formulates engineering program and organises project staff according to project requirements
Development and implementation of new product introduction process, as and when required
Assists with bid preparation and contract negotiation
Assign projects to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing
Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications
Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems
Directs integration or technical activities and products
Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releases
Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget
Prepares interim and completion project reports
Building and maintaining customer relationships throughout the project, handling enquiries and contracts
Conducting customer visits as required
Travel off site to client or suppliers as and when required
Any other similar requirements as requested

Competent with managing timescales and cost budgets
Understanding of proposals, supplier selection, preparation of specifications and quotation analysis
Previous experience within a project engineering/management background
Experienced in man-management

Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good IT literacy, familiarity Microsoft programmes including Microsoft Project, and other project based software
Problem solving
Able to work as part of a team to tight deadlines and targets

Engineering Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, or relevant Engineering discipline preferred, or qualified by experience
Technical HNC/ONC Qualified preferred
Prince 2 or other recognised project management qualification preferred
