Quality Engineer: Our client, a successful and long established Automotive component manufacturer, is looking to employ a Quality Engineer to strengthen their existing quality team. The appointed Quality Engineer will have a background in automotive quality and lots of TS16949 experience covering quality systems, processes, audits, lean, SPC, 8D, corrective and preventative actions, FMEA, etc. You'll be joining a long established business offering great training and progression in an excellent atmosphere.

Quality Engineer - Role & Responsibilities - Automotive:

* Ensure compliance to company procedures
* Process control and capability studies
* Supervisory responsibility for metallurgical laboratories and quality audit
* Liaise with other sites to ensure common systems are developed
* Ensure conformance to TS16949, standard and other customer requirements
* Adopt / implement proactive actions to obtain internal improvements
* Champion use of approved tools and techniques to solve problems and develop processes
* Report corrective action for non conformances (internal/external)
* Leadership and facilitation of continuous improvement and introduction of various lean manufacturing techniques and variation reduction.
* Ensure quality systems and procedures are fully updated and communicated
* Analyse and report on cost of quality
* Ensure quality approval is obtained for suppliers and sub-contractors
* Ensure auditing is carried out on both product and process (internal/external)
* Ensure appropriate process control and capability studies are in place
* Development of skills based training for employees including SPC, auditing, problem solving and FMEA
* Carry out benchmarking exercises in pursuit of implementing quality best practice.
* Leadership and facilitation of continuous improvement team and introduction of various lean manufacturing techniques and variation reduction.

Quality Engineer - Skills & Abilities - Automotive

Preferably of graduate calibre, you will require strong communication skills and have the ability to engender credibility and rapport at all levels of the organisation as well as the commitment, enthusiasm and passion to drive change. The successful candidate will have the following skills, experiences and attributes

* HNC/HND and/or Engineering Degree is essential
* 3 years previous Quality Engineer experience
* Previous change management experience
* Experience of working in the automotive industry is essential
* Experience with TS16949 is essential
* Knowledge of lean techniques is essential ideally six sigma
* MRP knowledge essential
* Knowledge of SPC and FMEA
* Methodical and logical thinker with problem solving skills
* Decision making skills
* Good communicator
* Good presentation skills
* Clean driving licence
