Production Engineer (Contract)

We are a market leading design, development & manufacturing organisation with a global supply base and a name synonymous with excellence. Due to product development and streamlining we are currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to undertake a varied, autonomous role.

As Manufacturing Engineer your role will be diverse and span full support of in house production (electro-mechanical) . The role will heavily support a number of new product introduction (NPI) projects as well as improving existing processes. Key accountabilities for Manufacturing Engineer will include:

Utilising your process development and lean skills to monitor and drive improvements to achieve quality, cost and delivery requirements
Supporting a number of new product development projects (NPI) Introducing new/amended products into our in house production environment.

Key accountabilities:

New Production Introduction (NPI) Process into Production
Driving continuous improvement and using lean tools such as FMEA's during design for manufacture (DFM) and design for Test (DFT) stages Generating/Updating/Implementation of routings / work instructions / assembly build processes
Tooling / Fixture design using 3D CAD
Cell design and implementation
Working with Production planning / scheduling to identify and resolve potential bottlenecks in the manufacturing process.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background as a production / manufacturing engineer with a HNC+ qualification in mechanical engineering or related discipline. An electro-mechanical assembly background sought. Excellent problem solving skills essential as are first class communication skills. An understanding of NPI, lean manufacturing techniques and 3D CAD for fixture design sought.

Hourly rate circa £28-35 per hour Ltd / Umbrella
6 months rolling / ongoing contract
