Our Mechanical team has a wealth of experience and knowledge combined. Structure: Engineering Director, Design Engineering Manager, Lead Design Engineers, Experienced Design Engineers, Junior Design Engineers, Engineering Support.
We have a similar structure for our Electrical / Electronic team.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
Minimum HNC/HND qualified or equivalent (in an engineering discipline)
Good knowledge and understanding of engineering standards
Previous experience in an engineering role.
Understanding and experience in the construction of BOMs (Bills of Material) - mechanical.
Ability to work displaying: organisation, enthusiasm & own initiative
Multi-task with simultaneous projects meeting tight cost and time restraints (often a week or less)
Computer literate (Word, Excel - intermediate level)
Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
Must speak clear fluent English (including technical vocabulary)
Free to work in the UK without visa restrictions
Experience of a Design Software (e.g. 2D: AutoCAD, 3D: Inventor, Solid Works, and Solid Edge
Our operational CAD system is Inventor Suite: Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD
Previous electrical/electronic BOM content experience
Current manual driving licence
Extensive training is provided for all staff. You will be given in house training in production to gain knowledge of our product range, and see the flow of materials from goods in, to assembly (electrical/electronic & mechanical), test (full system testing, analysis & fault finding) and despatch.
In house Navision MRP training from department staff.
Other courses as identified and required.
Tools & Clothing
All necessary tools and safety equipment are provided, including PPE (safety shoes etc., as required).
The Engineering department will be restructuring the compilation of BOMS and the process by which the MRP system is populated. This will involve utilizing the upgraded CAD software and integrating it with the MRP system. We are looking for a new team member to help initiate this development.
To gain a thorough knowledge of the top level BOMS which make up the various product groups.
To understand the logic and nomenclature of item cards to ensure that consistency is rigorously maintained.
Controlling the issue levels on BOMs within Navision, ensuring that these follow the agreed descriptor control procedures and methodology accordingly.
To administer the project tasks associated with restructuring all the BOMS for all current UV systems.
Taking the production order folder, and working from the order acknowledgement technical specification, and relevant quotation details to draw up the required technical documents
Assisting the control and issuing of routine production orders, compiling the bills of materials, and checking that the electrical and mechanical parts are of the latest specification, and meet the requirements of the system ordered.
Compiling top level / sub BOMs using Inventor to give Purchasing, Sales and Production a visual representation of the UV system being dispatched. Top level BOMs generally consist of: lampheads, fans, power supplies, cables and ducting (rigid and flexible).
Using the Inventor CAD system to prepare 2D and 3D drawings of assemblies using approved drawings of existing parts.
