General Dynamics Global Imaging Technologies has an immediate opening for a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Operations team. The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design and development the systems, processes and tools that support internal and client operations. Key Responsibilities of this position are:
Performs mechanical design of electro-mechanical, rotary motion systems. Directs and coordinates the activities of the mechanical engineering and document control departments to design mechanical and electro-mechanical products and systems.
Essential functions of this position are:
The candidate should possess at minimum a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and have at least ten years of related engineering experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
