About the Business Line
AECOM's Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions - International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. Job Summary
Conduct initial declassification reviews in support of the Department of Defense (DoD) Automatic Declassification Program. The Declassification Analyst will use their analytical skills to apply policy and procedures in making determinations on documents for declassification, exemption, exclusion or referral to other agencies. Each candidate must have demonstrated strong analytical skills, reading comprehension, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
To be considered for this position candidates MUST have an Active DOD TOP SECRET Clearance

Main Duties:
Document Review:
  • Analyze unclassified and classified documents to determine the appropriate action needed in accordance with section 3.3 of Executive Order (E.O.) 13526.
  • Proper understanding of document markings and ultimately proper handling.
  • Working knowledge of exemption categories 1-9 under section 3.3 of E.O. 13526.
  • Ability to properly recognize actual and possible nuclear weapons and intelligence information in all types of documents.
  • Ability to correctly apply declassification guidance.
  • Able to research information and ask questions to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to apply proper records management techniques to ensure the integrity of reviewed material. Other:
  • Assist in any other role or function that supports the efforts of the project.
  • Ability to move boxes weighing between 15 to 25 pounds.
  • Periodic travel within the National Capital Region.

Minimum Requirements
MUST HAVE: Final ACTIVE DOD TOP SECRET Clearance in order to be considered.
High School Diploma 0 years work experience.
Successfully passing initial declassification training and the Department of Energy's Historical Records Restricted Data Reviewers (HRRDR) Course.

Preferred Qualifications
Prefer one of the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in History, Political Science, or International Relations; or five years relevant work experience in a related technical field; or five years military experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in military and foreign policy affairs.
