Brunel is recruiting for a Principal/Senior Technologistfor a highly reputable multi-disciplinary consultancy based in Newark to work within an expanding Architectural Design team. Our client is recognized as a market leader in the use of BIM and Analytical Software to produce intelligent Digital Assets that our Clients can utilize for the lifecycle of the project, the candidate will be adept at explaining the benefits and managing the production of these deliverables, placing them at the forefront of the industry.


The Principal Technologist is responsible for managing the planning, development and support of major components and the client applications products. This involves liaising with product managers to ensure that planned features can be successfully implemented.


Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Liaise with product management in managing product backlogs
  • Manage the development of product and software components
  • Provide line management for engineers and architects
  • Provide support for internal and external customersLead design meetings with the engineering team
  • Provide scheduled updates to the VP, Development
  • Guides/manages strategic technical direction for team
  • Regularly present in portfolio meetings and other internal meetings
  • Presents at trade group and customer meetings

Ideal Candidate

  • 4-6 years minimum post graduate practice experience in the UKA CIAT accredited Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Architectural TechnologyMCIAT Chartered Architectural Technologist status is preferred.
  • Experience within industrial / commercial and manufacturing sectors is essential.
  • A thorough understanding of current UK Planning and Building Regulations as well as building pathology, architectural detailing, construction technologies and sustainable design solution.
  • An understanding of project procurement and the principles of excellent project delivery
  • The ability to work independently with little technical support from the directors
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and the Office SuiteGood working knowledge of BIM (Autodesk Revit preferred)Proficient with NBS Building or NBS Create specification writing software
  • Excellent spoken and written English as well as general communication and interpersonal skills
  • A full valid driving licence and your own means of transport would be very advantageous
