Our client are looking for an experienced Project Manager with OHL/Transmission experience to work on North Wales based projects.

OHL Experience

The Job
Our client operate under CDM regulations as a Principal Contractor with all the hallmarks of a Tier One. Working with the UK’s Transmission and Distribution network operators they take pride in the delivery of their solutions including Design, Project Management and Construction and thrive on safe working practices in doing so.
Due to the continued growth in their business, our client are now seeking to recruit a further Project Manager to cover projects and operational requirements in North Wales.
Ideal candidates will have a Low Voltage to 132kV background and be capable in the delivery of a portfolio of projects managing multiple gangs, sub contractors and client specifications. Prior Project Management experience within the construction sector is essential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
These will include the management and resourcing of construction contracts to maximise the profit and control costs by:
- Developing good working relationships and close liaison with clients
- Dealing with variations and valuations (submissions and settlements)
- Managing health, safety and environment issues
- Managing human resources issues, including staff training
- Dealing with customer care issues
- Maintaining a high standard of quality work
- Controlling overtime, petty cash and wages payment
- Carrying out pre, current and post programme/contract management
- Monitoring overall company performance
- Additional integral responsibilities include report writing, record maintenance, and satisfactory communication at all levels, maintenance of Company image, employee welfare and team building

Essential Attributes:
Skills and Knowledge
- In depth experience of management of civils/energy utility projects
- Extensive contract form awareness
- Ability to analyse problems and offer solutions
- Commercial awareness and understanding
- Leadership and responsibility
- Resourcefulness and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to manage people and resources to reach the successful completion of the projects for which the post holder is responsible
- Ability to give presentations and participate in other marketing events on behalf of the Company
- Consistently identify and manage Health and Safety issues to provide a safe place of work for at all times
- Ability to provide support to the tendering and estimating functions
- Extensive technical knowledge
- Good communicator
- Computer literate
Professional Experience
- Experience of working within a team
- Experience of managing civils / energy utility contracts
- Relevant experience at middle management level in the industry
