Primary Purpose of the Role

Due to recent business expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the TLD Systems Engineering Capabilities and consulting team to provide training consultancy, design and delivery worldwide in all aspects of Systems Engineering (ideally with a background in hardware), covering conceptual design, architecture, detailed design, development, integration and testing, delivery, support, maintenance and disposal.

This role offers the successful candidate an all round training opportunity, with aspects of Design, Delivery and Consultancy. You will have the opportunity to visit customer sites, so travel around the UK, Europe and worldwide are all likely to be required

You will work as a Consultant to Customers in assessing staff systems/software engineering technical competencies, devising learning interventions that map to their job roles and business engineering competence strategic development needs. You will be given the opportunity to continuously update personal skills and knowledge on new and emerging systems/software engineering areas, techniques and technologies in order to support future delivery of training in these areas.

Key responsibilities
  • Deliver the range of Systems and Software Training courses to internal and external clients.
  • Develop new course materials and design methods of delivery that encourage individuals to learn more effectively and for organisations to deliver higher value solutions through their people capability.
  • Attend client meetings and advise on appropriate training paths
  • Support the Business Development team in bids for new work by attending meetings with them and providing product and consultancy support
  • Manage delivery of large or bespoke systems/software engineering training projects as required
  • Expected split is planned to be 70% Training Delivery, 30% other activities


  • Excellent TOOLS knowledge such as DOORS or RHAPSODY
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of Engineering experience
  • Experienced in providing consultancy and potentially training design or training needs analysis
  • Excellent presentation skills required as well as the ability to prepare detailed tender documents.
  • Communication skills at all levels up to board level.
  • Systems Engineering or Software Engineering Hardware Experience
  • Training design and delivery experience
