Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a 3rd shift Production Maintenance Electrician IV - 3rd Shift Lead in Corinth, MS! Typical work schedule is Sunday - Thursday, 10:00pm - 6:30am; hours may vary based on business demand.

This production maintenance technician is responsible for providing an advanced level of expertise in troubleshooting, servicing and documenting the electrical and controls needs of process/production equipment in an industrial, large commercial, or logistics environment.

As a lead technician, this position is also responsible for providing leadership to the maintenance staff and directing the daily workflow of the team. Must be self-motivated and demonstrate the strong organizational/time management skills needed to be successful in this role.

Must have the ability to maintain, improve, and participate in developing control systems, programming ladder logic / PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, GE, MicroLogix, ControlLogix, PLC-5) and HMI. Works with Allen Bradley, controls and instrumentation such as thermocouples and transducers, as well as primary voltages up to and including 480v.

The Production Maintenance Electrician IV - Lead must have the ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. Effectively communicates with the site management team and the customer to understand requirements, solve electrical problems, and provide solutions to manufacturing problems. Provides instruction, mentors and trains less skilled technicians as needed.

  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs process/production machines, equipment and related electrical equipment, such as electrical control circuits from 24v up to and including 480v AC, electro-mechanical test devices, instrumentation devices, PLCs / ladder logic controllers, and variable frequency drives as necessary.
  • Calibrates instrumentation equipment and controls for optimum performance.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Procures parts from crib systems, OEM or authorized vendors.
  • Identifies and documents cost savings.
  • Develops and monitors work assignments for other technicians and coaches as appropriate.
  • Creates and modifies site operations procedures for equipment and recommends facilities reliability improvements.
  • Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.
  • Recommends activities to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills, such as motivation, delegation, ownership, leading by example, well-developed organizational skills, excellent communication skills, etc.
  • Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Promotes and adheres to AECOM Safety Structure.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, good comprehensive and analytical skills, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment, yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
  1. High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  2. Five years of experience performing electrical maintenance on industrial process / production equipment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Must have the ability to work in a lift at heights of 40 feet or higher.

  • This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.
  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.
  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Special Requirements:
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Associates Degree in Industrial Electrical, Industrial Technology or related program.
  2. Experience in leading or supervising a team of maintenance personnel.
  3. Experience with robotic systems and controls (Fanuc, ABB, Etc.).
  4. Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and altering PLCs, such as Allen Bradley.
  5. Experience using RS Logix, MicroLogix, ControlLogix and PLC-5 Software.
  6. Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing VFDs.
  7. Experience troubleshooting and repairing testing instrumentation.
  8. Experience calibrating testing equipment.
  9. Experience troubleshooting AC & DC control circuits.
  10. Experience troubleshooting analog control circuits.
Other Attributes:
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
