Client is a global leader in the design and manufacture of lighting controls, shading solutions and energy management systems for high end residential and commercial building applications. The company is a mid-sized U.S. multinational that is profitable, growing quickly and has a worldwide reputation for cutting edge technology, quality and customer service. This opportunity is open due to growth and will report to the Residential Sales Manager in Toronto. The Sales Representative - Residential Systems - Western Canada will be home based in Vancouver, Calgary or Edmonton and be responsible for developing relationships with Architects, Designers, Engineering Firms, Real Estate Developers, Home Builders, Project Owners and other consultants in Western Canada to have them specify the companies lighting controls and shading solutions into their residential buildings. The position will also be responsible for supporting dealers, distributors and agents in the region. Candidates must be willing to embrace the company's culture by being passionate, flexible, innovative, ethical and customer focused. Candidates must have the following background and experience to be considered.* Preference for a BA or BS Degree from top school with strong academic achievement. Will also look at 3 year Diplomas if candidate has appropriate sales and industry background.* Minimum 3 years of experience selling building automation products (lighting, shading, audio/video, security, HVAC, energy management systems, etc.) to architects, designers, engineering firms and other specifiers in western Canada.* Experience growing and supporting dealers, distributors and agents to develop the brand and grow the residential lighting control and shading business in Western Canada.* Knowledge of residential specification/construction process and proven success generating one name specifications.* Technical aptitude and ability to master complex lighting/shading control systems.* Stable Career History* Willingness to travel as required (up to 50%).* Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Sales Force (or other CRM software) and Designer (specification estimation software).* Confident, creative, passionate, flexible, "take charge" individual with excellent communication and inter-personal NA professionals specifying building automation products with Phillips, Siemens, ABB, Rockwell, Honeywell, Schneider, GE, Thomas & Betts, Square D, Cooper, Legrand, Leviton, Crestron, Control 4, AMX, Hunter Douglas, MECCO, Color Kinetics, SOMFY could be excellent backgrounds for this position.
