Role objective Optimise field force effectiveness, leading a team of 8 county based area team leaders and their team of planners, dispatchers and planning assistants, controlling the operational activity for non infra production assets and processes across the company. Working collaboratively with operations, central planning and contact partners, deploying work in the field to optimise available capacity. Driving a proactive 'right first time' culture, achieving schedule adherence, reducing waste and process variance, to deliver asset performance that will delight our customers, build trust in our capability and leave a lasting legacy.
Key accountabilities Lead a technical team of 94 colleagues, consisting of: 8 area planning leads, 34 tactical planners, 34 dispatchers and 18 planning assistants. Define team capability and skills, develop the team to meet capability requirements.
Manage an annual budget of £3.25m, majority manpower related cost opportunities. Identifying and delivering efficiencies to meet the OPEX challenge.
Support the central planning demand & capacity process, through management of weekly capacity 'hand shake' and capacity review at county ops comm cells.
Key performance indicators analysed and continuous improvement delivered through regular comm cells and team meetings.
Team and individual performance is optimised through setting of SMART objectives and regular review.
Build collaborative relationships with operations and central planning, provide insight and contribute to improvement.
Set the medium term direction for the non-infra planning team, continually reviewing effectiveness and exploring opportunities, leading change in the team.
Protect the Plan', drive a proactive culture, increasing schedule adherence and schedule process compliance.
Job data integrity is managed, quality of field force data monitored and improved.
Subject matter expertise for planning and scheduling processes, working with IS, operations and others to develop, test and implement process improvements in SAP, Click, MAM and other IT systems.
Support planning teams, managing standard operating process documentation, ensuring planning capacity gaps are managed.
3 to 5 years experience managing in a work flow planning environment, including knowledge of strategic and tactical work force/task planning.
Continuous improvement experience, and project management experince
Working knowledge of SAP PM & SRM, Click scheduler and Field IT, SCADA.
Load and capacity, demand forecasting, analysis and review.
Effective IT implementation and utilisation, Field IT, APPs, comms.
