The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a large public body based in Co. Antrim, to recruit a Capital Project and Estates Manager on a temporary basis for a period of 3 months initially, with the possibility of further extension.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Assets and Facilities Maintenance, you will manage the daily operation of the Capital Assets and Estates function, ensuring that all operational areas meet the standard required to deliver projects in a timely manner to a high standard while meeting financial and budgetary requirements.
Primary duties will include:
Manage the design and contract administration stages of projects allocated to the Capital Development section;
Act as Project Manager on projects as directed to ensure the projects are completed to the required standard, on time and within the allocated budget;
Make managerial, architectural and technical decisions throughout the design, production and construction phases of all capital projects for key stakeholders;
Represent Assets and Facilities Maintenance Department and be responsible for building effective working relationships with stakeholders;
Provide as required professional and technical design advice in delivering the capital works programme;
Responsibility for the Asset portfolio to ensure Capital Assets are effectively managed developed or released in such a way as to optimise returns and to ensure best value;
Manage the leased portfolio of properties, including lease negotiations, lease and estate management, rent reviews and site development as appropriate and to maximise returns from same;
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must satisfy the following criteria:
Possess a Degree in Project Management / Estate Management or a construction related discipline and be able to demonstrate that you have 3 years' management experience in a capital works & estate management function in the following areas:
Proven track record in successful project management of capital works;
Demonstrable experience of communications with a number of key stakeholders delivering successful outcomes;
Successful management and development of a team;
Experience in managing a Property Asset Management database.
If you do not possess a degree, you must possess 5 years' experience in the above areas, as well as Corporate Membership of a relevant Professional Institute.
Additionally, you must possess a full current driving licence with access to transport.
