The services of Hays have been retained by our client, a large public sector body based in Belfast, to recruit a Contract Claims Manager on a temporary basis, imagined to run for a period of 3 months in the first instance with the possibility of extension.
Your new role
You will be responsible for the management of contract claims relating to construction related work and services in a timely and efficient manner. Main responsibilities will include:
The management of construction related litigation, adjudication and arbitrations;
The day to day management of staff in the Contracts Claims Section of the Asset Management Programme Delivery Team engaged in the management of claims;
Assist the Senior Contract Claims Manager (SCCM) in ensuring that company policy practices and procedures reflect best practice in Public Sector procurement;
Contribute to the successful delivery of the Asset Management Programme Delivery Team's Business Plan, determining priorities and the allocation of resources.
Please note, this position is offered on a full-time basis, 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you must satisfy the following criteria:
Hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification with 3 years relevant experience. Exceptionally, candidates not holding the above level of qualification but with 5 years relevant experience may be considered.
Additionally, you must be chartered with membership of one of the recognised Construction related institutions, e.g MRICS.

Whilst the initial contract is for a period of 3 months, there is the possibility of further extension. A competitive level of remuneration is available dependent on experience.
