A national spec house builder are looking for a Divisional Engineer to join the technical team of this award winning business. Based in Merseyside and Cheshire, you will report into the Technical Manager and take on responsibility for junior members of the team.
Your new role
You will take responsibility for the technical assessment of new land opportunities, road and sewer infrastructure design, foundations design, whilst providing an important link between the design and construction process working closely with the regions Technical Manager. You can provide effective management, direction and the giving of advice/instruction to the regions Development Engineers, associated consultants, contractors and site based personnel to ensure best fit with the direction of the regional business. Delivering projects from the pre-start stage through to handover to the construction team, you will assist with technical appraisals for new land acquisitions, procuring technical investigations/assessments.
You will liaise with Statutory Bodies, regulators and authorities during the land acquisition process. Procuring engineering designs for both tender and construction purposes, and liaising with Local Authority/Drainage Undertakers/Solicitors to secure technical approval to designs and S38/S104/S278 etc Agreements. You will co-ordinate multi-utility/single-utility tenders and subsequent analysis. Co-ordinate piling tenders and subsequent analysis, liaising with Commercial Department and Sub-contractors to procure demolition/remediation contractors. You will co-ordinate pre-start process, taking an active involvement at tender stage to provide assistance with technical detailing. You will attend site meetings to monitor the progress and resolve any issues as and when they arise, managing the Development Engineers to ensure departmental objectives are delivered. Management of External Architects and Consulting Engineers including a working knowledge of the Planning Process, providing technical support, inclusive of appropriate advice to the Regional Construction team.
You will co-ordination drawing issues and file management, including monitoring of departmental systems and procedures. Responsibility will also include management of Road and Sewer adoptions, ensuring the regions liabilities are minimised.
What you'll need to succeed
You can demonstrate extensive engineering knowledge and experience within the house-building industry, especially development site appraisal process, design of geo-environmental investigations, ground gas risk assessment, chemical contamination risk assessments, foundation assessments and remediation proposals.
