Lane Global are seeking an experienced Data Engineer for a large structured cabling company who operate across the UK. First part of the project is 4 weeks however this is likely to be continual work if you are the right candidate.|
The Data Engineer will be part of a team of 2. There is also a cable puller required should you work in a team.
To install cabling, containment etc to a high standard which exceeds both ours and our client?s expectations, as well as meeting international standards and manufacturers installation guidelines.
To work both alone as part of a larger team to install Data and Communication cabling in varied environments (Office, Hospital, data centres, manufacturing etc)
Work hand in hand with a Project Management team by taking a leading role in the control of quality and productivity against often challenging delivery programs, issuing daily site progress reports.
Interpret construction issue documentation when working with the Project Management team yet have the ability to be able to make on site decisions.
Demonstrating appropriate responsibility to Health and Safety, ensuring these maintained at all times.
Ensure stock control & deliveries are processed in such a fashion that it does not impinge on a project delivery
Be responsible for producing the raw data outputs required to produce ?As Fitted? documentation (drawings, TDR results, other layouts) in a timely fashion.
Be able to create, maintain and execute patching records
Have confidence to converse directly with client base while on site where required.
Conduct quality audits on installation works
Basic installation of IT equipment (install in racks and energise)
Have a flexible attitude to working, being able to work out of hours and weekends, sometimes at short notice.
Traveling and overnights stays will be expected as required.
To have their own mode of transport (equipped van) & plant (steps, drills & tooling)
Working predominantly within the South East & City/M25 but willing to travel anywhere
Weekend, and OOH work will also be required on occasion
Skills, Experience, Qualifications
5 years? experience of Installing, terminating & commissioning of U/FTP & STP copper (category 5e, 6 & 6A).
5 years? experience of Installing fibre optic (OM2, 3,4 & OS1 & 2) & 1308 backbone cabling
Hold a current CSCS card relevant to a Telecoms Installer position
Full understanding of the operation of a Fluke DTX tester and the test results, when testing new installations or when fault finding.
Full UK driving Licence.
Experience with Systimax, Connectix & Ortronics cabling systems preferred but not essential.
Current IPAF and PASMA certification preferred but not essential.
