As the successful Rail Project Manager you will be a client facing role leading all phases of Project Management including: proposal development; budget and programme management; client interaction and overall delivery of a project to required scope and quality standards. The projects range from early feasibility schemes to detailed design schemes direct to contractors.
Mott MacDonald work on high profile rail infrastructure projects within the UK and in Edinburgh we require an experienced Project Manager to work with us to deliver these multidisciplinary rail schemes using BIM technology
The Edinburgh Transportation team delivers multidisciplinary rail schemes including Civil Engineering, Bridges, Track, Signalling and Overhead Line design to a wide range of customers including Network Rail, SPT, Transport Scotland, Developers and contractors such as BAM Nuttall, Morgan Sindall, AMCO, Colas.
You will be managing a variety of rail infrastructure projects including electrification route clearance works, access for all, capacity and line speed improvement and station projects. You will have the opportunity to develop your BIM knowledge and skills.

Essential requirements for the role include:
BEng & MSc or MEng in civil engineering or a rail related discipline
Chartered, or approaching Chartered status (training and Mentoring can be provided for those working towards Chartered status)
Experience of rail project management, within a consultancy environment
Sound technical capability and familiarity with current industry standards
Excellent commercial awareness and be familiar with standard terms and conditions such as NR3 and NEC professional services
Ideally you will have/be;
A member of a recognised Project Management body, such as APM, or hold certificates in Lean or Prince
Extensive rail experience;
Be familiar with all aspects of design; and have proven experience leading teams.
Whilst experience in Civil Engineering or Bridge design is preferred, we will consider staff with experience in other areas of rail infrastructure or with a broad range of engineering skills.
