Due to an expanding workload, we are currently recruiting for Contracts Managers to assist in managing construction projects effectively as part of our Student Accommodation (North and South) division.

Duties will include, but not be limited to;

The following tasks are not in priority order

1 Managing the subcontractors appointed on the project and ensuring they each deliver on time and within budget
2 Auditing and monitoring sites in respect of health and safety and along with the site agent for ensuring the site is well managed from a safety point of view
3 Other duties include producing monthly management reports on the contract status for the directors
4 Monitoring site progress in the form of weekly internal site meetings
5 Reporting to the client on site progress in the form of contract site meetings
6 Monitoring plant usage on site
7 Produce site reports
8 Review diary reports
9 Organise and lead site meetings
10 Communicate and liaise with relevant directors to ensure smooth site operations
11 Discuss and review progress with Construction Director on a daily basis
12 Formulate and present progress reporting structure both internally and to the client
13 Overall responsibility for construction, through to the completion of the building, to the agree programme
14 Formulating and agreeing main contract programmes
15 To set the agenda for the construction process
16 Ensure site team manage in overall terms Site Health and Safety Policy, security and fire policies
17 Ensure site team set up and work too main site filling system
18 Control contractual correspondence and distribution of information
19 Oversee preparation and issuing of Operating and Maintenance manuals
20 Attend post hand over review meetings
21 Plan, direct and review Health & Safety Training requirements
22 Encourage and develop communication methods employed by staff an nurture positive supportive approach to developing staff
23 To discuss, support and advise team members on an regular individual and team basis
24 Liaise with Human Resources for additional support

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and knowledge;

* Requiring education/ qualifications to a level of NVQ 4, Degree, HND or equivalent experience.
* Practical site experience
* Strong persuasive
* Excellent communicator
* Strong time management skills

Please note that extensive nationwide travel is a fundamental part of this role.
