Our client are an Aberdeen based Operator and they currently have a permanent requirement for a Safety Engineer based onshore to hold responsibility for their FPSO's safety engineering requirements.|
Performance of Safety Engineering & Environmental activities supporting operations teams to meet the company objectives as described in Corporate Policy.
Providing independent technical safety engineering advice to ensure that the risks to personnel on North Sea assets are managed to a level that is as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP), thereby ensuring compliance with corporate objectives and UK legislation.
Understanding and knowledge of UK legislation (including OSCR, PFEER, PSR, MAR, DCR) and main regulatory bodies.
Ensuring major hazards are effectively assessed, evaluated and managed in accordance with relevant statutory and corporate requirements.
Maintaining Operations Safety Cases and associated documentation for North Sea assets.
Assessment, evaluation and management of cumulative risk where Safety Critical Elements are identified as impaired.
Providing independent technical safety engineering advice on modifications, technical queries, maintenance and projects to ensure company fulfils its responsibilities under the legal framework.
Chairing and attending ORAs and Bowtie Assessments as required.
Identify and initiate safety studies and support external consultants carrying out these studies to ensure delivery of effective technical solutions.
Contributing to department internal reporting systems - KPIs.
Compliance with, and assisting with the preparation and implementation of corporate procedures.
Participation in internal and external safety and environmental audits.
Emergency Response Duties - 1-3 days offshore per month
Bachelor Degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent
UK Oil & Gas Medical Certificate
Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST)
Previous experience in petrochemical/offshore environment essential
