Position Production Manager

Location Keighley
Reporting to Head of Manufacturing

Manage short term (weekly/daily) production activities to ensure Key Performance targets are achieved.
Develop Production teams towards the achievement of a continuous improvement ethos through effective use of coaching and talent development techniques, whilst adhering to and promoting at all levels of the clients Environment Health & Safety, Quality, and Customer Service standards.
Ensure appropriate levels of shift supervision on a site operating a 24x5 (with occasional week end working) calendar

Key Responsibilities:

? Achieve a year on year improvement in safety performance at the site in line with budget targets, by ensuring that all areas operate in accordance and continuous compliance with all Environment, Health & Safety policies and procedures ensuring all risk assessments and departmental inspections are carried out on time and in accordance with the defined schedule. Ensuring all employees are compliant across the whole site to all Company Policies and Procedures, including Health & Safety, Human Resources and Quality. Lead projects for new capital introduction into manufacturing to ensure all project requirements are achieved.
? Work closely with the Quality Manager to improve the sites quality standards, monitoring and enhancing the sites Standard Operating Procedures on an annual basis, ensuring that all departments are adhering to the latest versions at all times, monitor all departments to verify that quality checks are carried out and associated paperwork completed in accordance with company policies.
? Manage the day to day production activities for the entire site, providing support and guidance to the Supervision team in order to achieve the sites targets. Ensuring that the plant?s production hours target is met on a daily basis. Reporting all variances and corrective actions to the Head of Manufacturing regularly. Engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues.
? Work with the Operations team to deliver annual efficiency savings, ensuring that all direct reports are driven to complete projects and tasks in a timely manner.
? Work closely which the Logistics Manager to deliver DSA improvements across the board.
? Working with the site HR Representatives and in accordance with the relevant Company policies and procedures, deal with any disciplinary and grievance issues that arise within the areas.
? Carry out accident and incident investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions, ensuring that all details are gathered within 24 hours of the accident/incident taking place.
? Attend regular operations meetings in order to communicate site wide performance ensuring that plant activities are in accordance with customer demand, Lead the daily production meeting as well as weekly handover meetings reporting any major issues back to the Head of Manufacturing in a timely manner.
? Effectively empower, coach, manage and develop the Supervision team to promote continuous personal and professional development; maintaining the required skill base across the site, whilst encouraging progression.

? Preferably lean sigma accredited.
? Foundation Degree accreditation as a minimum.

? Automotive Manufacturing experience
? Lean sigma ? VSM, Kaizen, 5S, SMED, TPM and OEE
? Understanding the requirements and implementation of TS16949 including Process Flow, PFMEA and Control Plans
? Previous successful experience of managing projects.
