Immediate opportunity now available for an experienced Controls & Application Engineer or Senior level Engineer for a reputable Global Industrial & Process Automation Solution provider to assist with the definition, design, build, installation and commissioning of software solutions for manufacturing environments.|
The Control & Application Engineer will be working on a range of solutions from MES platforms to SCADA and PLC's. The role will entail leading teams or working independently depending on project size.
The Engineer will work from requirement specifications taking involvement in the creation of project documentation, software design & build, FAT/SAT, site installation/commissioning and customer training.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of a similar role in a manufacturing integration environment with a knowledge covering shop floor automation and OEM interfacing through to ERP system integration.
The successful candidate will have solid experience of Manufacturing Solutions. (PLC,HMI,MIS,MES) including the ability to design, develop, build and test systems from within a production environment including but not limited MES, SCADA and PLC platforms. It is essential you have experience of Siemens Simatic IT / Siemens MES to be considered for this role. Also sought:
* Experience with SQL server & reporting
* PLC, HMI & SCADA software development
* MES application development is essential
* Knowledge of high level programming languages commonly used in a manufacturing environment would be ideal
* IT infrastructure and networking experience
* Analytical approach to problem solving
* Be able to create and/or analyse customer requirements
* Be able to derive conceptual design or enhancements of current designs for solutions irrespective of platform
* Assist others in the production of technical sales proposals
* Be financially and commercially aware
Willingness to travel and possession of current driving licence is essential in this position, as is eligibility for subsequent application for UK security clearance if required.
