Software Development Manager Summary Our client in the Kitchener area is looking for a Software Development Manager experienced in leading development efforts and is a leader of people. Primary Responsibilities Provide strong, crisp leadership to a team of software developers. You will enable your team for success! Identify gaps in development/delivery processes and drive solutions to these challenges Work cross-functionally with the Product Management, QA, IT and Release Management to coordinate the delivery of software features Own the operational aspects of our development lifecycle. Drive work, own day to day activities and throughput Adhere to established processes and propose new process where gaps exist or improvements are necessary Deliver to the talent management needs of your people including developing training plans and providing the necessary coaching and support for people to grow and learn. Develop and maintain a highly collaborative working relationship with your delivery partners and peers. Ideal Attributes You are a people leader. You used to be a developer and you've hung up your technical hat and chosen the leadership stream to support and develop teams of people You are exceptionally organized You don't bat an eye when it's time to take initiative and execute You have a strong understanding of SDLC and years of experience using an Agile Development approach. You are solution oriented, a critical thinker and have the ability to balance multiple projects and priorities You are usually approached with issues that no one else can solve - you are the ultimate problem solver with the ability to balance thoughtfulness and a sense of urgency You have the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and partnerships You are highly detail oriented with exceptional follow up and follow through Experience Ideally, 5-8 years of coding/development experience 4+ years of leadership experience Understand how the Internet and WWW work. Understand Agile and Scrum methodologies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strategic and tactical thinking. Education University degree or College diploma and/or equivalent work experience.
