Position Overview
Working as part of the Strategic Delivery team leading large programmes delivering Business Change initiatives to agreed standards and methodology ensuring that all programmes deliver the expected benefits to time, quality and costs. Ensure that all sub project documentation, project plans, risk and issues logs, reporting requirements are provided by all assigned project managers in good time and of a high quality.
The role will mainly be based in our West Bromwich office. There is a requirement for Programme Managers to be work at other Interserve locations or clients sites.
The Programme Manager will have responsibility for delivering the following Business Change Programmes to the Support Services divisions:
  • Process Change
  • People Change
  • Technology Change
  • Business Transformation

  • Build, develop and motivate high performing programme teams committed to achieving success by delivering the benefits of the programme
  • Manage large Business Change programmes to time, quality and cost
  • Work with other functional areas to ensure synergy, effectiveness, and continual improvement of the organisational processes
  • Manage and lead all project communication to key stakeholders
  • Responsible for effective communication within and across programmes to all stakeholders
  • To be aware of and support key negotiations and management of external vendors
  • Manage the inter-project dependencies across the programme so that the objectives of the programme are achieved in the most effective and efficient manner
  • Conduct Programme Reviews and provide accurate, informative and timely status reports to senior, executive and corporate management
  • Control activities, set priorities and allocate resources
  • Develop and support organisational financial commitments and strategies
  • Ensure all sub projects deliver to agreed methodologies and standards taking corrective action where standards are not followed
  • Responsible for quality management of programme products
  • Highlight any breaches of tolerances and take action to rectify
  • Build and maintain RAID logs (Risk, assumptions, Issues and Dependencies) prioritising and building mitigation plan to minimise impact

  • Strong experience of managing risk, issues and dependencies and building mitigation plans
  • Presence with the ability to lead integrated teams
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Highly skilled at developing relationships with customers and sub contractors; persuasive and credible with strong client facing skills
  • Team player with strong leadership skills - a collaborative style
  • Enthusiastic, determined and committed
  • Confident self-starter, capable of innovation and lateral thinking
  • Accredited Programme management qualification e.g. MSP
